Last Sunday, July 14th, we got to welcome and pray over our newest staff member to the Northlake congregation of Exodus Church. Emily Rodgers will be serving as our “Deacon of kids and administration” and I could not be more excited to have her as a part of the team. Emily and her husband Andrew have been serving faithfully as deacons over our kids ministry since the fall of 2017. She and Andrew are an incredible gift of God’s grace to our church family and I am abundantly hopeful for all the ways God is going to continue to use her as she steps into this new staff role. As sent ones in this world, I believe God will use Emily to help us become more effective and efficient as we seek to continue to make more and more disciples of Christ. Please join me in welcoming Emily to this new staff role at Exodus and take a minute and read this brief introduction from her below:
I am beyond excited to obey God in taking a step into my new role at Exodus as Deacon of Administration and EKids. My husband, Andrew, and I have been leading EKids since October 2017 and it has been a true joy to lead a team of volunteers who desire to see children come to know and love our King Jesus. Hearing what the kids retain from class on Sunday is so sweet and seeing those seeds planted so early in their lives leads me to prayer that they would follow God as they mature into the next generation of believers.
Adding the Administration aspect to my role has been a desire of mine that I am thankful the Lord is finally granting me the ability to do. Serving the pastors here at Exodus is a humbling opportunity that I am overjoyed to be a part of. Taking on new responsibly is exciting, but obeying God’s call for my life and how I can use my time wisely to serve Him and his bride is what I cannot fathom and cannot thank Him enough for allowing me to do. I also cannot thank the Elders enough for trusting me with this position. Serving Christ in a leadership position allows for many teachable opportunities for myself. God continues to blow me away in His kindness and grace in my own life and I am thrilled to be a part of the staff here at Exodus and continue to be a part of all that God is doing in North Charlotte.
